Pleasant Prairie RecPlex is hosting a swim team tryout for the Pleasant Prairie Patriots (PX3) Swim Team on Friday, September 26, in RecPlex Aqua Arena, located at 9900 Terwall Terrace, Pleasant Prairie. The event is open to swimmers who have had formal lessons and can swim independently. The PX3 Swim Team is the only USA Swimming–affiliated program based in Kenosha County. The program is designed to challenge each athlete appropriately while promoting skill development and growth within a supportive and fun team environment.
The event will begin at 5:00 p.m. During the event, participants will have the opportunity to meet team coaches, observe national-level swimmer demonstrations, speak with current PX3 families, and receive a swim evaluation. Participants are welcome to stay for Family Swim in the indoor waterpark until 8:30 p.m.
“The goal is to help families understand what PX3 offers and give interested swimmers a chance to see the team in action,” said Jory Blauer, Head PX3 Swim Coach. “We welcome swimmers with a range of experience levels and are committed to helping each athlete reach their full potential.”
PX3 Swim Team Requirements
Swimmers must be able to complete at least two out of four competitive swimming strokes: Butterfly, Backstroke, Breaststroke, and Freestyle, at 25 yards without struggling. Those who meet the criteria may be eligible to join a PX3 training group. Swimmers who do not meet this requirement are encouraged to join the swim lesson program at RecPlex, which is designed to build foundational skills and prepare athletes for team participation.
This community event offers a unique opportunity for swimmers and their families to meet with coaches, observe training sessions, and ask questions in a welcoming setting.
