Classes Offered: 
Lifeguarding and Instructor classes are currently on hold due to an anticipated curriculum change from the American Red Cross in February of 2024.

Lifeguarding:
Certification is required to be employed as a lifeguard. Training includes both testing hands-on skills as well as comprehension on written tests. The certification, which includes First Aid, CPR and AED training, is valid for two years upon completion and is accepted nationwide. This class also includes American Red Cross Administering Emergency Oxygen course and Waterpark Skills module.

This class is blended and requires 7 hours of eLearning before the course begins. Link to blended learning will be sent to participant via email. 

Prerequisites:
Students must be at least 15 years old by the last day of the class.
Students must pass a pre-course swimming skills test prior to taking lifeguard courses
-300-yard swim-front crawl or breaststroke
-2-minute tread without hands
-Timed brick test consisting of a 20-yard swim
-Surface dive 7-10ft, retrieve a 10lb brick, return to start with brick out of water in 1 minutes, 40 seconds, and exit the pool without a ladder

Lifeguard Training Review
This is a recertification course for American Red Cross lifeguarding. This course includes the following from the American Red Cross: Lifeguarding review course, Waterpark Skills module, and Administering Emergency Oxygen course. In order to take this course participants must have a current American Red Cross lifeguard certification or have a certification that is expired no more than 30 days.


American Red Cross Waterfront Skills
Participants must hold an American Red Cross Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED certification to take the course. This course results in an American Red Cross certificate for Waterfront Skills. This certification is valid for no more than two years. A current American Red Cross Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED certificate is also needed with this certification.

Prerequisites:

Current American Red Cross Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED certification

Pre-course to be completed at the beginning of the course:

-550-yard swim (continuous using front crawl, breaststroke, or combination of those two)

-2-minute tread using only legs

-Timed event-swim 20 yards, retrieve 10lb object in 7-10ft of water, swim 20 yards back while holding object, exit water without ladder or steps

-Underwater swim-retrieve three dive rings that are 5 yards apart in 4-7ft of water

American Red Cross Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED
Participants will receive a stand-alone First Aid/CPR/AED certification that is valid for 2 years from completion date. American Red Cross certifications are compliant with most company policies, and provide necessary lifesaving skills to any participant 15 and older.

American Red Cross Lifeguarding Instructor Course
Learn how to train lifeguards and teach lifeguarding classes. Classes scheduled based on demand and availability.

American Red Cross Lifeguarding Instructor Recertification
Recertification for current LGI's. Participant must hold a current Red Cross LGI certification in order to enroll in the course or a past certification that has been expired for no more than 30 days.

American Red Cross Lifeguarding Instructor Trainer Recertification
Recertification for current LGIT's. Participant must hold a current Red Cross LGIT certification in order to enroll in the course or a past certification that has been expired for no more than 30 days.
