Adult Day Program - Discovery
Our Adult Day Program is designed for individuals ages 18 and older with
a variety of disabilities. With a supportive 8:1 participant-to-staff ratio, we provide a safe and engaging environment where each individual can thrive.
The program’s goal is to foster social, emotional, physical, and mental growth through meaningful recreational activities and experiences. Our caring staff are trained to assist with personal cares and Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), offering the same support and compassion you would expect from a second family.
Participants enjoy a wide range of activities tailored to promote connection, independence, and fun, including but not limited to:
- Swimming
- Arts & crafts
- Exercise and gym games
- Community outings
- Music and games

- Yard games outside in the side yard
- Gardening
- Ice skating

- Pontoon boat rides
- Bowling
- Library visits
- Music Therapy once a month

The Adult Day Program runs Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM, providing structured activities, friendships, and lasting memories in a welcoming community. Attendance for this program is a minimum of 3 days a week.
After School Adult Program (Ages 18–21)
Our After School Adult Program is designed for young adults ages 18-21 who are completing school and beginning their transition into adult services, while also providing meaningful opportunities to build friendships with peers who are of similar age. With an 8:1 participant-to-staff ratio, we provide a supportive and social environment where participants can build friendships, explore new activities, and ease the shift from school-based services to adult programming.
This program gives participants the opportunity to hang out with peers, connect socially, and develop independence in a fun and welcoming setting. Activities may include games, crafts, recreation, socialization and more. Transportation from school to the RecPlex is required for attendance.
The After School Adult Program runs Monday through Friday from 2:30–5:00 PM. Participants enrolled in this program are also eligible to attend Full Day Program days based on their individual school schedule.
Adult Day Program Summer Camp - Discovery
Our Adult Day Program Summer Camp is designed for individuals 18 and older with a variety of disabilities, offering a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment all summer long. With a supportive 8:1 participant-to-staff ratio, our camp provides the structure, care, and fun of a traditional summer camp while encouraging independence, friendship, and personal growth. This program takes place during the months of June - August and is typically 11 weeks.
Campers enjoy a wide variety of activities that promote social, emotional, physical, and recreational development, including but not limited to:
- Swimming and beach days
- Arts & crafts
- Exercise and gym games
- Music and group games
- Park visits

- Fishing
- Pontoon boat rides
- and so much more!

In addition, participants have the option to sign up for special field trips at an additional cost. Past adventures have included:
- PB & Jam Concert with lunch

The Adult Day Program Summer Camp runs
Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., providing a summer filled with meaningful activities, community connections, and unforgettable memories. Attendance for this program is a minimum of 3 days a week.
Clubs - must attend Adult Day Program to join and attend the program days the clubs run in order to sign up for them
**Clubs are only run during Fall to Spring program time during the months of September - May.
Swim Club - Monday
In Swim Club, swimmers will learn water safety, floating, basic swim strokes, and build confidence in the pool. With a 4:1 staff-to-participant ratio, everyone gets personalized attention while having fun with friends. Participants must be comfortable in the water. This program helps increase comfort, safety, and enjoyment in the water, making each splash a step toward more independence and fun!
Cooking Club - Tuesday
Our Cooking Club gives participants the chance to learn kitchen safety, practice basic cooking skills, and create simple, tasty recipes alongside their peers. Each session, participants will follow step-by-step instructions to prepare a variety of quick meals and fun treats while gaining confidence in the kitchen. After preparing their dish, everyone will get to enjoy the food they’ve made together, making Cooking Club both a learning experience and a social gathering.
Craft Club - Wednesday
Unleash your creativity in our Craft Club! Participants will have the opportunity to design and create their own art projects with guidance and support from our trained staff. Each project helps build fine motor skills, following directions, and problem-solving, all while providing a fun, social environment to spend time with peers. Craft Club is a creative, open-ended art experience for anyone who enjoys making things, exploring new techniques, and expressing themselves through art.
Fitness Club - Thursday
Stay active, strong, and having fun in our Fitness Club! Participants will have the opportunity to use the RecPlex gym, indoor track, and workout space, including weights, stationary bikes, treadmills, ellipticals, and more. Each session focuses on stretching, strength-building, and endurance through adaptive workouts designed for all abilities. Guided by trained staff, participants will learn the importance of staying active and healthy while engaging in fun, peer-supported activities. Each week brings new exercises and challenges, keeping workouts fresh, exciting, and motivating.
Community Integration Outings - must attend Adult Day Program to join and attend the program days the outings run in order to sign up for them
**Community Integration Outings are only run during Fall to Spring program time during the months of September - May.
Participants in our Adult Day Program have the opportunity to sign up for engaging community outings designed to build social connections, explore new experiences, and practice life skills in real-world settings. Outings are typically scheduled twice a month, with most taking place on Tuesdays or Wednesdays. Specific days and times may vary each month.
These outings are available for an additional cost, and space is limited, so early registration is recommended. Please note that outings are subject to change and are non-refundable.

Community Integration Outings are a wonderful way for participants to explore, socialize, and make memories outside the program in a safe and supportive environment.
Weather / Program Cancellations
Weather Cancellations will be posted to the TR Facebook page no later than 1 hour before program opening. (6:00a weekdays, 8a Saturdays). A message will also be sent via our Brightwheel App.
Getting Started
Before joining any of our Therapeutic Recreation (TR) programs or services, an assessment is required. This helps us better understand each participant’s needs, interests, and goals so we can provide the best possible experience.

Step 3: After the assessment, we’ll work together to find the right program fit for your child or family member.
